A Humanoid Hardware Project for Your Own AI

Bring a clear software goal to the hardware discussion. If your team already has a language model, voice service or application, the next step is to establish what the selected robot exposes, what remains inside the supplied controller and who will complete the connection. A humanoid appearance is useful only when the delivery scope supports the intended interaction.
Warmcore’s public Xiaoling information describes secondary development and customer-selected model integration for suitable configurations as a case-by-case discussion. This is a route for evaluating a project. It is not a public API reference, a guarantee that every module is replaceable or a promise that every model can be installed unchanged.
Is this the right project to evaluate?
This route can be useful when a team has a defined interaction, people able to maintain its application, and a reason to use a physical head or humanoid form. Examples of requirements include a project knowledge service, a selected conversation persona or an existing speech pipeline. Feasibility depends on the configuration and the required interfaces.
Start with the Xiaoling platforms or the JINSAN body and smart-head route. Body, head, camera, compute and control access must be selected together. Do not assume a consumer configuration includes engineering access because a similar-looking unit appears in a demo.

Define the integration boundary
Separate your existing application from the device interface. Explain where speech recognition, model processing and speech synthesis run, then identify which inputs and outputs must cross the boundary. Knowledge configuration in a supplied console is different from connecting an external application.
Scroll sideways to see all columns.
| Boundary | What the review must settle |
|---|---|
| Input | Required microphone, camera or touch signals; access format and permission. |
| Conversation and voice | Hosting, network dependence, audio exchange and account responsibility. |
| Motion | Documented requests, permitted actions, limits and controller ownership. |
| Operations | Startup, version changes, fault reporting and long-term maintenance. |
Do not send credentials or private datasets with an initial inquiry. Describe the stack and use a non-sensitive example. Agree later on an appropriate method for sharing materials needed by the actual integration.
Review documentation before committing
Request the selected version’s interface description, connection requirements, example workflow, supported environment and control restrictions. If ROS 2 is required, the review must identify the relevant distribution, packages and example for that hardware. A computer running Ubuntu or a USB connector is not sufficient proof.
The existing robot SDK versus custom-development guide helps decide whether the work belongs in your team, supplier engineering or a hybrid arrangement. For general background, the NVIDIA software overview illustrates a separate software ecosystem; it does not establish support on the selected Warmcore device.

Make acceptance observable
Choose one initial interaction rather than an undefined promise of “full integration.” State the user input, the system that generates the answer, the audio output and the required head action. Identify what the customer application must control and what the device controller retains.
Run the acceptance sequence with the agreed software and hardware versions. Include a restart, a lost network connection and an unsupported request. Record the expected response and recovery procedure. A demonstration of the supplied conversation service is not a substitute for a test of your own application.

Compare a complete project quote
Ask for separate scope items for equipment, selected modules, provided software services, engineering, documentation access, testing and support. Identify subscription or usage charges where applicable. Delivery also needs destination, battery-related transport conditions and the production estimate, separately from integration work.
Use the price guide for the buying route, then request a project-specific scope. A published starting price is not a fixed development contract or a guarantee of delivery time.
Start with a practical project brief
Provide the intended setting, preferred physical format, current AI/voice stack, required inputs and movements, deployment environment, destination, target schedule and budget range. Explain the work your team will handle. The review can then separate included components, optional modules and custom development.
Can any AI model be connected?
Compatibility must be checked for the selected configuration and interface. A model name alone does not define its hosting, memory, network or input/output requirements.
Does a console setting mean external API access?
No. Console configuration and control by an outside application are separate scope items and need explicit confirmation.
Is this a ready-made ROS 2 kit?
No such claim follows from this project-review route. Confirm the platform-specific documentation and working example if ROS 2 is essential. Send your integration requirements to Warmcore to begin the configuration review.
